When Flatbed Power Only Makes Sense

Construction firms, steel and building materials shippers, machinery dealers, and industrial plants often own flatbeds for project work. When those trailers sit loaded at a mill or job site without available company power, a brokered tractor finishes the delivery. Empty flatbeds also need repositioning between yards and projects—another natural power only use case.

Equipment Notes Unique to Open Decks

Share trailer type (standard flat, step deck, double drop, or other), length, and any height or width considerations for the load. If the freight is already secured, note strap or chain counts and whether tarps are applied. Carriers need to know if they are expected only to pull—or if additional securement checks are required at hook time under your instructions.

Site access is critical: dirt roads, soft shoulders, limited turnarounds, and crane schedules affect which power units can serve the move. Provide gate contacts, escort needs, and appointment windows for oversize-adjacent loads when applicable. Empty relocates still need roadworthy decks—lights, brakes, and landing gear—before a driver will hook.
